The Columbus Area Arts Council is in the process of raising $10,000 for our permanent endowment fund and we need your help to make it happen!
Earlier this year we were selected to participate in the 2013 Endowment Building Challenge from Heritage Fund, The Community Foundation of Bartholomew County. This matching initiative from Heritage Fund is designed to develop and grow permanent endowment funds at Heritage Fund by offering a 2 to 1 match on donations. Because this challenge has been offered to a few select Bartholomew County nonprofits, and we want to make sure we meet our goal.
How does this grant work? For every $2 raised by participating organizations (that’s us!), $1 in matching funds will be provided by Heritage Fund (up to $5,000). That means, if we meet our goal of $10,000, Heritage Fund will give us $5,000. That $15,000 is important to the future of the Arts Council, as annual distributions from our endowment can be used for many purposes, including administrative overhead, salaries, capital campaigns, and special projects.
Why now? With just a few short weeks before this challenge is over (deadline is December 31, 2013), we want to make sure we meet our $10,000 goal. And the added bonus of receiving $5,000 from Heritage Fund, after meeting our $10,000 goal, will help ensure that we have money set aside for our future.
