2013 marks the 38th year of unCommon Cause, the Columbus Area Arts Council’s largest annual fundraiser. Each year the community comes together to celebrate and raise funds for the arts in Columbus. And each year we celebrate with a different theme that helps to set the backdrop of the night’s festivities, that include dinner and dancing. Live and silent auctions complete the evening’s goal of raising funds for the Arts Council.

This year’s theme is Bollywood: The Sights and Sounds of India. Envision an exotic evening complete with canopied balconies, elephants, festive music, dancing, and a riot of color. Imagine a feast of the senses (minus the elephants, of course) that 2013 unCommon Cause most certainly will be. Complementing the night’s theme, Indian-inspired food will be prepared by chef Gethin Thomas. Exotic drinks, live and silent auctions, and fast-paced games will keep things spicy. Come dressed in your most festive Indian attire. Black tie is certainly acceptable..

Each year community members lead the charge of organizing unCommon Cause. Our 2013 Honorary Chairs are Kiyomi and Anant Talaulicar and Sarla and Swadesh Kalsi. Our co-chairs are Nida and Umar Farooq and Hanna Omar and  Nebil Baghum.
