Just like beefsteak tomatoes, art is at its best when it is local. The newly opened Haw Creek Heritage Center in Hope, Indiana is seeking entries for Locally Grown, an art exhibition and competitionfor Hoosier artists to be held this fall. This new venture is dedicated to showcasing the wide variety of talent that our state has to offer, with a grand opening event on September 12, 2014 that will not only showcase the entries, but will have art opportunities for all who visit the Haw Creek Heritage Center. As a special treat, nibbles at the opening event will contain products that are locally grown.
All 2D and 3D amateur and professional artists are invited to enter the competition. In addition, a special youth category will have prizes awarded as well. All pieces submitted must be work original to the artist, and all artists will have the opportunity to sell their works on display. All Indiana artists may participate, but only artists living within 40 miles of the Haw Creek Center will be eligible for cash prizes. There is a $10 fee per entry or the artist may enter 3 works for $25. The deadline for entry is September 5, 2014. E-mail firstname.lastname@example.org for entry tips and form.
