2002 Mural Project:
Post-Project Responses

Some of the young people from Youth Services were invited to assess the projects in writing. Here are some of their comments:

"The way I felt about being in the group that (did) the murals was it made me feel like part of the team…It made me think about all the bad things I done in the past and how I (was a) role model for little kids and how I can do whatever I put my mind to. Thanks…for what you have done for me."

"Let me know when the next mural project is because I would like to be involved."

"The painting meant a lot to me. I really enjoyed it and would like to do it again. I like how you (Rebecca) and Dante helped me learn how to express my feelings and how to put more into something than just do it. I like how you two taught us to do something more than just painting a wall. Thank you and I hope we do it again sometime."

"…this wasn't the first time I've done a mural with you guys…but I feel the one at FFY (Foundation for Youth) had more meaning than the one at the skate park (referring to the 2001 project). I felt that the one at FFY touched more people, like we got to be role models to all the little kids when we were there."

"The mural project…made me think about a lot of things that I had done. It helped me relax a lot…You guys helped me realize how I should make myself work toward my goals. I just wanted to tell you thank you."
